About Me

Clinical Director, South Wales Trauma Network Consultant in Emergency Medicine, Morriston Hospital, Swansea Consultant in Prehospital Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) Cymru, Health Foundation Fellow

Dr Gill has extensive experience of retrieval medicine and trauma systems in the UK and internationally. He was the co-founder of the EMRTS Cymru, which went live on the 27th April 2015. The EMRTS is an All Wales service that provides pre-hospital critical care to all age groups, time critical inter-hospital adult and paediatric transfer, transfer of mothers and babies from home or at mid-wife led units and major incident response. He was the National Director of the service until May 2017.

Dr Gill is the Clinical Director for the South Wales Trauma Network and led the development of the clinical and operational service model, resource requirements and assurances in preparation for go live in September 2020. He has a particular interest in the clinical/operational governance of emergency and retrieval services and the relationship with major trauma networks and patient flow across the system.
