Head of Information Governance

Darren Lloyd is the Head of Information Governance for Digital Health & Care Wales and the formally recognised Data Protection Officer for the organisation 

Darren has work extensively within centralised NHS Wales administration services for over 33 years. Over the past 20 years he has worked more exclusively within the areas of Information Governance compliance. 

The role of Health & Social Care to demonstrate compliance within the areas of Information Security, Confidentiality and Privacy has grown significantly with the advent of electronic systems, Darren has been helping to deliver the strategy of providing more comprehensive access to patient information to a wider set of professionals responsible for delivering Health & Social Care within Wales. That strategy balanced with the need to ensure that confidentially of those records is maintained for any new systems and service that comes online.
