Andrew Carson-Stevens is a GP at Cardiff University where he convenes the Patient Safety Research Group (PISA) with expertise investigating the quality and safety of healthcare, specifically frequency and avoidance of significant harm in healthcare, machine learning (artificial intelligence) methods for automating the analysis of patient safety data, and implementing and evaluating interventions to reduce harm to patients.
He is the Patient Safety Research Lead at the PRIME Center for Wales, is a long-standing advisor to the World Health Organization and contributes to several international projects led by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development to improve the quality and safety of healthcare throughout the world.
