Synopsis:
Delegates will hear about the work underway in Wales to nationally standardise patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) data to ensure consistency in the collection and allow data to flow across organisational boundaries. This data will feed a number of nationally developed tools, supporting both patient care and service improvement. The group will describe the reasons why standardisation is key to supporting the use of PROMs in clinical practice and also the steps required to achieve this within the context of NHS Wales. Particular attention will be given to data items that allows data linkage, longitudinally, across specialties, and across organisational boundaries. Challenges and opportunities will be discussed as well as progress to date.
