Academic Clinical Oncologist

Katie Spencer is an Academic Clinical Oncologist at the University of Leeds. She originally trained at the University of Cambridge before moving to Yorkshire as a junior doctor. Her PhD assessed the variation in use and outcomes of palliative radiotherapy across the English NHS. Within this she considered the cost-effectiveness and quality of life benefits experienced by patients, particularly as they near the end of life. Her ongoing work focusses on understanding and improving the value and equity of routine cancer care in the NHS.
